DIP Hatha Yoga (YITC)
DIP Pre and Post–natal Yoga (Birthlight)

My love for Yoga began 12 years ago while living in New York. Seeking solace from the hectic city, I tried a Yoga class and was immediately hooked. I began going to class on a regular basis. I continued to practice ‘Yoga for Pregnancy’ through both of my pregnancies, and had two natural quick births. Yoga helped enormously, (however, this approach offers no guarantees for an easier or quicker birth). An increased awareness of body and an enhanced ability to breathe and relax helped me adjust to the physical demands of labour, birth and motherhood. After completing a ‘Hatha Yoga Teacher Training’ course in 2005, I complemented my practice by doing the ‘Birthlight’ course for pregnancy, and have been teaching ever since. ‘Yoga for Pregnancy’ is an ideal preparation for labour and birth, creating a state of calmness, inner clarity, confidence, peace and significantly reduces anxiety levels regarding the birth process, as the mind becomes involved with body movement allowing an appropriate response to the contractions.

‘Yoga for Pregnancy’ helps women prepare for the imminent arrival of their babies. Witnessing the growing life inside and having the pleasure of meeting the babies if they come back for ‘Mother and Baby Yoga’, is a great privilege and very rewarding. Giving birth transforms women’s lives in profound and often unexpected ways. The flow of breath in Yoga opens a steady and calm path in the midst of change that new mothers experience. Each experience is unique and yet all births call for a new integration of physical and spiritual well-being.
